Your 'On demand' Technology Leaders for mid-market businesses
Whatever kind of changes your business might have gone through in recent times as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent lockdown, it is never too early to start thinking about how you are going to respond when the lockdown is lifted and the world unpauses.
We don’t yet know if the lockdown will end suddenly or if there will be a staggered easing. However, it is important to plan for our business future - whatever that might be.
But what will be required when the lockdown is lifted? In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the demands that you might have on your head as a Multi-Hatted Director (MHD).
How can you ensure you meet all of these properly?
Getting Employees Back To Work
One of the first steps you will need to take, and one which is likely to be particularly stressful, is going to be getting your employees back to work as smoothly as possible. If you have been allowing people to work from home, then bringing them back into the office could suddenly cause some huge disturbances for everyone. You are probably going to feel pressured to be in touch with all of your employees, explaining to them what the situation is and what the next steps are. A mass email may help with giving out the information, but you might need to personally call your staff as well.
Being In Contact With Suppliers
It’s not just your employees that you need to be concerned about. You will also need to contact your suppliers as well, as their business will be dependent, at least in part, on your business operating. When you are thinking about your new project management tasks, you will want to put this fairly near the top, so that you can keep them on side and hopefully spark up the professional relationship you need with them once again. It could be enough to let them know you are still trading, or you might need to negotiate new contracts with them, depending on what the situation is.
Checking Over Existing Projects
The projects that you still have running, or which have simply been sat on pause for months, will need reviewing, you cannot simply unpause them and hope for the best. In fact, one of your major tasks is going to be checking that these projects are still relevant now that the world has unpaused and possibly changed in many ways. Not reviewing your projects and focusing on what new ones meet the new needs could land your business in serious trouble if you are not careful, so it is best to think it through.
Throughout all of this, you need to have robust IT systems and clear processes in place, and a trusted partner by your side for those and your project management best practices too. For all those needs, you can be sure to rely upon the professionalism and expertise of Green Giant Consulting, who will be more than happy to help to give you the right guidance you need to get back to the ‘new normal’
